Big lots find turned chalkboard!

I am a big fan of the Liz Marie Blog! Her style is amazing and I am always inspired by her posts! When I saw her chalkboard this week it gave me an idea to redo a "wall piece" that my mom bought for me about a year ago! I always had thoughts of redoing it but never knew what to do! Well now I do! Checkout the wall hanging before!
Super cute and matched my idea for my kitchen about a year ago! She got it on sale because there weye some rips on the film (guess where I get my frugalness from) hah!
Here are the items I used to do this project with!
First I painted the entire thing black! Scary looking I know!

Then I put a couple coats of primer on the part I didn't want to be chalkboard!
After that I put a coat of white acrylic paint on the frame, and took chalkboard paint to the two panels. Once it was dry I took fine grit sandpaper to the whole thing and walla! A chalkboard!
Still am debating if I should do something with the center panel! Cork board maybe? Any ideas would be great!!
This picture shows the whole wall that this chalkboard is on, I have plans to turn it into a command center so stay tuned for that as well! I'm thinking the horseshoes and star don't really go with my taste anymore but hey it works for now!
Thanks for reading guys! Enjoy the rest of your day!!
