DIY Rustic/ Industrial Coat Rack

Another busy week for me between trying to find a new car, school and remodeling our kitchen it is crazy here! I did have a few seconds to finish one of my projects that I started a couple weeks ago! My husband and I mad a bet a few years ago at a garage sale that he wouldn't be able to buy this bamboo chair for 5 bucks, I think it was priced at like $25! Well he did it and I lost the bet and we were now stuck with an old rickety bamboo chair that looked something like this except super sun faded.
So here we are two years later with a super uncomfortable bamboo chair on our back patio that our lovely fur-babies have chewed on! My hoarding self finally decided it was time for the chair to go but I kept all of the slats!!
Next I had a coat rack from hobby lobby that I had in our master bathroom to hold towels but it was not working there for me! You can see what I put there instead here.
Here is how I put it together
First I put all the boards together by putting a 2 boards behind them and then screwing them into the 2 boards. After that  I put two screws where the coat hanger would hang off of it.
Here it is on the wall! Eventually this wall will be all the lighter color but I made it striped for now so that the color from the kitchen wasn't such an eye soar!
Also here is the awkward wall that it is on! Somedays I don't know if I love it or hate it lol This is the opening from the living room into the dining room.
What do you guys think of this coat hanger? It comes in pretty handy because our coat closet is down the hallway!  Hope you guys have a great Wednesday!

Ampersand Wall Update

How is it Thursday already?! If you are following me on instagram you have seen the progress we have made to the kitchen! Exciting!! This week has been flying by!! I thought I would share with you guys a quick update on our ampersand wall! It is coming along, and I am starting to love it!!
Here is what the wall looks like now!

For this ampersand wall decor below, I bought a chipboard ampersand and a blank ornate sign from hobby lobby! Next I took a piece of scrapbook paper (the chevron) and modge-podged it to the ornate sign! Then I painted the ampersand and hot glued it to the sign and then I painted the edges white! That's it! Super easy and inexpensive!!

All I did to this piece was paint it!

For the tutorial on how to make your own ampersand like the one shown in the middle click here.
Hope you guys like this little update on our ampersand wall! Have a great Thursday!!
