Bedroom Furniture Makeover
I'm back!!! Man it has been a crazy month! Between going home for a week, spending some quality time with family and school my poor little blog has taken a hit! I was on the fence on quitting blogging because of the time commitment it takes but this past month I have really missed sharing with you guys! I have been promising to share our bedroom furniture makeover for quite some time now and finally have got the time to share! I am still waiting on my hobby lobby to get one set of knobs in but not sharing this with you all has been driving me crazy so I hope you guys can look past the missing knobs haha!
Here are some pictures of before, they are not the best because I was so excited to get started on this project but you can get the idea!
This was one of the two dressers I redid the second one I redid I forgot to take pictures of but the drawer is shown below.
First thing I did was sand everything! Both of the dressers and end tables had laminate on them so for those parts I used a coarser sandpaper! (this was before I thought of using chalk paint).
I did take pictures throughout the process but somehow they are not on my camera anymore so I will just give you all a quick run through of what I did!
After sanding I took black paint and painted the edges of everything. (for later distressing) Next I painted one coat of primer over everything, then I made chalk paint using a recipe I found here. After two coats of that, I faux stained the tops of all the furniture, stay tuned on a post about that! Then I sanded the areas that I wanted to look worn and added new hardware. I added a layer of wax and was all done!
Here is the finished products!
Dresser 1
Dresser 2
Night Stands!
Here are some more pictures of dresser one!
And more of dresser two!
Sorry for all of the pictures but I am in love!! Crazy what a little bit of paint can do!! If you have any questions feel free to leave them below!! So glad to be sharing with all of you again!! Have a great Monday guys!!

ReplyDeleteThey really change the room, look like two completely different dressers. I really like the original color on top. Nice pop of color

Thank you Liz!!
DeleteThese look so great! I love the pulls, too. I love the way the dark distressing looks against the white furniture and the dark pulls. You did a great job! I recently just found the love of white chalk paint so I will soon be following in your footsteps and painting a dresser for my 2nd bedroom. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Teresa!! You will love the chalk paint!!
